erformance based auditing; Risk-based thinking and NIAHO optimization create a solid platform for your accreditation to show sustainable performance and increased patient safety. As resources get tighter, this is quickly becoming a common perspective…accreditation should not be overhead. 
​ We are offering a one-week training course designed to help you on the journey of making your accreditation a recognized investment in patient safety.   

Course Outline

 
  • Three (3) days  (certified by Exemplar Global) on performance internal auditing, using tenants from the Value-Added Auditing Handbook and ISO 9001:2015. You will crosswalk these new requirements to NIAHO while learning how to conduct a true performance audit (linking actions to risk, outcomes and efficient use of resources).  There is an optional  2-hour examination at the end of this portion of the course  for your personal certification. 
  • A full day of Risk-Based Thinking.  We will discuss and use examples directly from your hospitals. 
  • Learn the basics of process and risk integration, using a proprietary, proven method. 
  • NIAHO specific concerns ex.  Contracted Services (GB.3), Measurement, Monitoring, Analysis (QM.7) and Medication Management (MM).  We will look at known issues and concerns in our nations hospitals and discuss how to best your your current accreditation to help you improve.

This course gives you knowledge about optimizing your audit program, integrating risk-based thinking and integrating your NIAHO accreditation with your existing management system. We created this course based on many discussions with hospitals.  Many hospitals use the traditional ISO 9001 Lead Auditor class for education of ISO and implementation assistance.  A Lead Auditor class is great knowledge if you intend to survey for DNVGL.  It is not appropriate for implementing or transitioning to ISO 9001:2015. 

Our “Optimizing your Accreditation PRN” course uses an activity-based learning model to enhance your learning and retention.  By using proven learning models and real life examples, you leave with knowledge that is meaningful and applicable to your journey.
