ISO 9001:2008 Transition to ISO 9001:2015

Picture
This training is designed to provide education and training to the various  levels of responsibility in your hospital.  Taking an ISO 9001:2015 Auditing Course for Healthcare or an ISO 9001:2015 Standard's course probably will not achieve the desired level of knowledge necessary to implement the new 9001 requirements.

This training will vary depending on the your hospital's quality management system's maturity and the amount of time you have to make your transition.  Your hospital is unique, therefore your transition training should be tailored to you. Contact us to chat about what may be best for you and your hospital.

Translating ISO 9001:2015 for Healthcare

Picture
This course explains the concepts of ISO 9001:2015 through an in-depth, clause by clause review of the Standard from the healthcare perspective. In addition, NIAHO is referenced throughout the course.

Our healthcare  perspective is from working in hospitals and healthcare, not just from auditing experience.

Executive Engagement

Picture
Appropriate, relevant and timely education and training at the executive level is essential for every Quality Management System (QMS) and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) plan. We offer a number of different training options for your leadership team.  We integrate your hospitals vision, mission, values, goals and objectives into each session.  It is more than just explaining requirements; we tailor the training/education message to be about your hospital.  Session lengths vary based on your specific hospital's needs.

  2. Value-added auditing as a method to enhance your audit program

Implementing an ISO 9001 Audit Program

Picture
Your internal audit program is one of the most resource intensive requirements of the DNV GL NIAHO accreditation. This one requirement impacts your entire hospital, including any outsourced services.

The number one asked question pertains to the implementation and maintenance of an internal audit program. Just meeting this requirement will not provide much value to your hospital. Providing auditor training or education about the ISO 9001:2015 standard will not provide the knowledge to effectively meet this requirement.

Let us help you and your staff design a healthcare internal audit program that is based on your current needs and provides real future value to your leadership and stakeholders.

Picture
We offer three different training courses for your ISO 9001:2015 Healthcare Internal Auditor training needs, with and without a certification exam
  1. ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor - exam for certification for QMS Auditor
  2. ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor  - no exam
  3. Optimizing Your Accreditation, PRN - exam for certification QMS Auditor
Each course will train your healthcare internal auditors for the DNV GL NIAHO accreditation program.  These courses are foundational for future implementation of a value-added auditing program.

Lets chat about which course is right for you.

Healthcare Process and Risk Management

Picture
This course is an immersion into an understanding of process management and control that becomes foundational for managing risks appropriately.  Through an activity-based learning process, you will engage in building a basic process map that considers all appropriate influences on that process and the risk related to the process.  You are now required to "integrate" your risks with your "business processes".  This course will help you begin the effective journey.

Value-Added Auditing

Picture
Value-added auditing (VAA) is the process for conducting practical, cost effective, risk based audits in many different functional areas.

VAA is
a proven method for looking at the effectiveness of a hospital's operational and financial performance.  It has its roots in the US Government Accountability Office (GAO) “Yellow Book”.  The Yellow book is an in-depth look at the activities (processes) that affect finances.  VAA has evolved to fully integrate a full process (operational) perspective while understanding the financial effect on the organization.

Value-added auditing can be defined as a systematic, objective appraisal by independent auditors to determine whether
  • Financial and operational controls are reliable
  • Organizational risk is identified and managed
  • Compliance to external requirements (NFPA, OSHA, etc.)
  • Conformance to ISO 9001, NIAHO and other applicable standards
  • Efficient use of resources
  • The hospital's objectives are effectively achieved.
In a simplified form, VAA is a true organizational performance audit.

The VAA is quickly gaining acceptance in the C-suite.  Click on the link below for more information.
